My New iPod

Drop Shadow

1. Put all layers into one folder and call it iPod
2. Duplicate the folder 2 times
3. Name one Shadow
4. Name one Reflection
5. Flatten/Merge the layers of both folders
6. Transform it (Ctrl+T) and flip the reflection vertically
7. Put mask on your reflection (Use gradiant tool/paint brush)
8. Take Shadow Layer, then Ctrl+Click on the icon of the layer (gives selection)
9. Then Edit - Fill -Black
10. Ctrl  T and make it small
11. Then Filter - Blur - gaussian blur (if shadow is stilll too dark, reduce the opacity)

The tools of composition

1. Hierarchy: Organizing things from most important to least important.

2. Focal Point: The strongest, most compelling element in design.

3. Eye Path: A strong composition can guide the viewer's eye through the design.

4. Proportion: size of elements in proportion to one another. Relativeamounts of space devoted to items eg. written vs image.

5. Visual Weight: Equals size + value (the lightness or darkness of a colour).

6. Type As A Virtual Element - Blocks of type as having shape and weight like photos and illustrations.

7. Alignment (Grid) - Sense of visual order and rhythm. Set of guidelines for the user to align and repeat elements within space.

8. Design with intention and use the 7 tools to help guide the viewer's eye.

Photoshop Notes 7 Masking

1. Have two Pictures in Photoshop open, drag the layer to the other picture or you can select the picture and drag it into the other window.
2. To shrink one of the photos, use ctrl+T.
3. Zoom out if you can't see your handle.
4. If you hold down shift while transforming to maintain the proportion of the picture.
5. When your done transforming it press ENTER.
6. The shortcut to make your brush bigger is the square brackets.
7. Use the hard brush to go around objects.
8. To blend something use a saft brush with low opacity.

Hue is another word for colour

-You should constantly zoom in on your work to see if your selection is proper

-The shortcut for the hand tool is the space button

-To zoom in, use ctrl + space

-To Zoom out, use alt+space

-To add to a selection hold down shift, and to remove selection hold down alt.

-ctrl + D is deselect

- Invert select is Shift + Ctrl + I

- Wand tool is quicker and better than the Magnetic selection tool

-To navigate, hold the space bar

-The default colours are Black and white, to restore the default, use the small black and white button

-Selections are important because you need to isolate some objects

-To deselect, press ctrl + D, to invert selection, press ctrl+shift+I

-The short cut to fill is Alt + Delete

-To get back a selection, you can save it or, ctrl + click

-The number one thing you do in photoshop is to duplicate your original background layer

-Use the magice wand tool to select the background and than inverse to have your object selected.

Photoshop Notes 5 Organization

1. Use shift and then select the layers to move them around together.
2. If u want to edit the background layer, double click it and rename it.
3. The shortcut to fill is th key Alt+Delete.
4. Ctrl click the layer's thumbnail to make a quick selection.
5. Name all your layers.
6. Slowly turn your layers off to find the layer that messed up your picture.

1. Use the text tool to write your name.
2. Right click on the layer to rasterize.
3. Drag it to duplicate it.
4. Put on a transparency lock.
5. Edit-Fill with black.
6. Turn off the transparency lock.
7. Filter-Blur-gaussian blur.

1. To make a blapple I would use a quick selection tool to select the background.
2. Then I would use the polygonal lasso tool to select the stem.
3.Then I would invert that selection.
4. Then I would click on hue/saturation to colour it.

1. To move a layer you can copy and paste or you can drag using the move tool.
2. To turn a layer on or off click on the eye icon.
3. To make a layer transparent use lock transparency.
4. To blur go on filter-blur.
5. To get a selection back hold down the ctrl key and click on the thumbnail in the layers menu.

My First Blog

This is my first blog on blogger and the beginning of many blogs to come. I am currently a grade 10 student at Applewood Heights Secondary School and I just started my second semester. My courses this semester are communications technology, fitness, history, and computer technology. I found out about blogger in Mr.Sanger's communications technology class and this is my first time using it. Anyways I hope u liked my blog and I will blog again soon.
